A warm welcome to The Green...

The Green is an 18th century detached cottage situated in the heart of the historic village of Lastingham, nestling on the edge of the North York Moors. Our tranquil village is halfway between Helmsley and Pickering with Kirkbymoorside a short car drive away. 

 

Lastingham is a perfect stepping off point for a relaxing holiday and access to the moors. You can be on the moors within a few minutes without the need to get into your car. A comfortable, welcoming retreat for walking or cycling any time of the year.

 

The cottage comfortably accommodates six with children and dogs most welcome. We have a small enclosed rear garden, perfect for summer BBQ’s and alfresco dining. If you don’t feel like cooking, simply pop next door to the Blacksmiths Arms - a delightful gastropub with a pleasant outside seating area and takeaway options available all year round.

 

The village has a superb community atmosphere, the church, pub and village hall regularly hosting events from the Christmas craft fayre, to the Halloween pumpkin trail, open gardens and concerts at St Mary’s church and gigs at the pub.
